SRINAGAR: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina on Friday expressed condolence over the demise of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, saying the late leader was always concerned about the peace in Jammu & Kashmir.
“The former Prime Minister will always be remembered for his liberal economic policies that took India out of the morass in the early 1990s,” Singh said in a statement issued here..
In his condolence message, Raina said that Dr Singh always believed in a dialogue and advocated for the same while dealing with the Kashmir issue. He said that Dr Manmohan Singh always tried his best to bring in all stakeholders under a single roof so that the Kashmir problem is resolved.
“It was during the time of Dr Singh that separatists were invited for a dialogue in order to solve the Kashmir issue. He also initiated dialogue with Pakistan and wanted to have cordial relations with our immediate neighbour,” the APSCC Chairman said.
Raina added, “In the present day context the visionary leadership of the former Prime Minister will be missed by all especially by the peace loving people of Jammu & Kashmir. Dr Singh laid the foundation for economic vibrancy in India and it was only after this that India has become an economic super power.”
The APSCC Chairman extended his condolences to the bereaved family. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family.
