At least 25 protesters sustained injuries as clashes between them and government forces intensified in Zainapora area of Shopian district on Thursday, reports said.
According to the sources, the clashes erupted in the area after an Army vehicle crushed a school going nine year old girl namely Urooba to death at nearby Aglar.
Hundreds of people including women and students hit the roads in Zainapora to protest against what they called rash driving of Army vehicles in the area.
However police and other forces resorted to tear smoke shelling against the stone pelting protesters.
Meanwhile, the injured were shifted to the nearby hospital for the treatment.
