LG For ‘Upholding’ Sanctity Of Constitution

Srinagar: The Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir celebrated the Constitution Day today to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly on 26th November, 1949.
The celebration began with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha leading the senior officers to read the Preamble to the Constitution of India.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor wrote: “Greetings on Constitution Day. Tributes to the makers of our Constitution. On this momentous occasion, I call upon all to uphold the sanctity of constitution & further strengthen principles of social justice, equality and let’s devote ourselves to peace & progress of the society”.
Meanwhile, Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (JKLA), Abdul Rahim Rather led the celebrations of Constitution Day by reading out the Preamble of the Constitution at Central Hall of Assembly Complex here.
Secretary Legislative Assembly, Manoj Kumar; senior officers of Assembly Secretariat and other staff also took part in the celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker highlighted that this day marks a significant milestone in our country’s democratic progression. He reiterated that by celebrating this day, we all have an opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of the framers of the our Constitution.
Pertinently, Government is commemorating 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution and kick started celebrations under “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhimaan” campaign across the country.
