BARAMULLA: The four-day long inter-department football tournament, titled RABONA-2024, organized by the Sports Committee of the North Campus of Kashmir University, concluded today at the Upper Delina Campus. The final match of the tournament was played between the IMBA Department and the B.Tech CSE Department of the North Campus. The IMBA team clinched the trophy with a 2-0 victory, emerging as the champions of RABONA-2024, Season 1.
The Man of the Match award was presented to Musaib Ahmad of the IMBA Department, while Suhaib Ahmad, also of the IMBA Department, was awarded the Man of the Tournament accolade.
During the presentation ceremony, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, a member of the organizing committee, welcomed the students, teaching staff, and non-teaching faculty of the campus. Dr. Farooq also presented a detailed report on the ongoing sports activities at the campus. The Convener of Sports, Dr. Mohammad Ameen Parray, provided a detailed account of the sports activities carried out by the Sports Committee throughout the year 2024. Presenting his “Sports Aaj Tak: Year 2024,” he said, “For the nourishment of body, mind, and soul, our commitment to academics, sports, and the spiritual growth of our students will continue.”
In his presidential remarks, the Acting Director of the Campus, Prof. Khurshid Ahmad Qazi, congratulated the Sports Committee for organizing the event and commended all the participating teams for maintaining discipline throughout the tournament.
Academics and officials present at the event included Dr. Bilal Ahmad Mir, Dr. Bilal Ahmad Kaloo, Dr. Ambreen Wani, Dr. Maleeha Gul, and Mr. Mohammad Sajjad Dar.
Dr. Viqar un Nisa, a member of the organizing committee, conducted the proceedings of the event and also presented the vote of thanks.
