NC Condemns, terms It ‘Barbaric’

Srinagar: Terrorists on Thursday killed two members of the Village Defense Guard (VDG) in Kishtwar district.
Quoting officials, a news agency reported that the guards—Kuldeep Kumar son of Amar Chand and Nazir Ahmad son of Mohammad Khalid, both residents of Ohil Kuntwara—were kidnapped and later on shot dead in cold blood.
Meanwhile, J&K National Conference (JKNC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah condemned killings of VDG members in Kishtwar.
They said such acts of barbaric violence remain a significant impediment in achieving lasting peace in J&K.
“JKNC President Dr Farooq Abdullah and VP & Chief Minister @OmarAbdullah have condemned the gruesome killing of two village defence guards in Kishtwar namely Nazir Ahmad and Kuldeep Kumar, in a forest area,” the NC in a statement said.
They said that such acts of barbaric violence remain a significant impediment in achieving long lasting peace in J&K. In this hour of grief, their thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased, the statement said.
