Accompanies BJP candidate during mega rally, filing of nomination papers
SRINAGAR: Accompanying Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Gurez Faqir Mohammad Khan, the party’s National Executive Member and J&K Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Wednesday joined the mega rally of the BJP from Wanpora bridge to the office of the Returning Officer Gurez in the border valley.
The rally was attended by a huge gathering of people in a large cavalcade of vehicles passing through many localities and hamlets amid a rousing welcome by the people, a statement issued here said, adding that people showered flower petals on the vehicles of the show during the rally.
BJP candidate for Gurez Faqir Mohammad Khan later filed his nomination papers in the office of the returning officer in the presence of Dr Andrabi. Faqir Mohammad Khan thanked the people for their love and support.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Darakhshan said, “This beautiful border valley lacked development during the past seven decades, but now BJP has made a significant change in the lives of the people here. Prime Minister’s special developmental initiatives have transformed Gurez.. Very important road network has been laid in all parts of the valley. Many development initiatives have been taken and in the days to come Gurez will see more development envisioned by BJP.”
Dr Andrabi hailed the people of Gurez for their nationalistic approach and said that “while the political dynasts and their representatives worked for their personal development only, it was only the BJP which has established peace and prosperity everywhere”.
“BJP has a clear developmental vision while the dynastic parties are only selling hollow slogans and showing the people the castles in the air as they did for exploiting people for votes for decades,” she said Andrabi. “These elections provide us a chance to choose honest and dedicated representatives so that the corrupt dynasts are shown the door out.”
