Agri Deptt refutes claims of paddy diseases in Amirabad Tral

Must read

SRINAGAR: The Agriculture Department Kashmir has refuted a story carried by a media channel claiming that there was an incidence of some diseases in the paddy fields of Amirabad Tral.
The department said that a joint team, headed by Joint Director Agriculture Extension Kashmir Mr. Sartaj Ahmad Shah, visited the affected patches of paddy land and found that there were no symptoms of any disease. Although some spikelets were found to be damaged, the team decided to take prophylactic measures to prevent any further damage.
The team, which included experts from SKUAST Kashmir and KVK Malangpora, observed that the affected fields were relatively minor and did not pose a significant threat to the crop. The team’s findings were communicated to the farmers, and they were advised to spray Cholorophyriphos 20 EC at 1 ml/lt of water to prevent any further damage.
The Agriculture Department Kashmir has labelled the report as baseless, false, and malicious and has advised the concerned media outlet to seek clarification before publishing unverified claims. The department has emphasized the importance of verifying information before publishing it to avoid spreading misinformation.
The department has also commended the farmers for their prompt action in reporting the issue and has assured them that they will continue to provide support and guidance to ensure a healthy and productive crop.
