A youth sustained bullet injury during clashes between protesters and government forces in Rangreth area on the outskirts of Srinagar, p[olice sources said.
They said that youth pelted stones on forces who responded by firing teargas shells.
“A youth was injured in clashes,” said an eyewitness. “He has been hospitalized,” he added.
A senior police official said that Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel were withdrawing from the area when they came under stone-pelting.
“They (SSB) resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters. One youth was injured,” he said.
