A shutdown is being observed in Shopian district and other parts of south Kashmir to protest against the killing of a young student in firing by government forces last night.
Adil Farooq Magray, a college student was killed last night after forces opened fire on protesters who were trying to disrupt a cordon and search operation and help militants escape in Ganawpora village of the Shopian district.
All shops, school, colleges and other business establishments are closed in the district while traffic is off the roads.
