Volunteers donate 80 units of blood

PULWAMA: On World Blood Donor Day, the National Youth Peace Foundation organized a blood donation camp in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday. The event was held in collaboration with Sky Lark Paramedical College, Red Cross Society Pulwama and Paradise Career Experts at the Sky Lark Paramedical College Pulwama.
The event witnessed overwhelming participation from diverse community members, including volunteers, young people, media persons, police, and security personnel.
This collective effort resulted in the donation of approximately 80 pints of blood, making a significant contribution to emergency medical resources, NYPF founded Musaddiq Reyaz told Kashmir Reader.
Lt Col Deven Sood of the 55 Rashtriya Rifles acknowledged the volunteers from NYPF, students from Sky Lark, and members of the Red Cross Society for their concerted efforts. He praised their collective initiative as a positive societal contribution, emphasising the importance of such community-driven efforts.
SSP Pulwama PD Nitya, who was invited by NYPF to the event, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of this noble cause. She commended the organisers for their inspiring social work and its positive influence on peer behaviour.
She further encouraged the youth and other community members to step forward to save lives through such humanitarian acts.
Musaddiq Reyaz, founder of NYPF, underscored the critical importance of organising blood donation camps.
“Organising such donation drives is crucial as blood is a life-saving resource in emergencies. Today’s active participation highlights the community’s dedication to this noble cause,” he said.
Addressing the donors, Wani Rauf emphasised that donating blood is a harmless act for the donor but immensely beneficial to those in need.
He applauded the involvement of women in the camp, marking it as a significant and positive development.
