CHADOORA: The 20th World Blood Donor Day was celebrated at the Blood Centre Sub District Hospital Chadoora, focusing on raising awareness about the importance of blood donation. The event, held in collaboration with 313 Blood Donors Kashmir volunteers, included a blood donation camp.
A number of units of blood were donated by volunteers and other participants during the camp. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to donors and participants, and a token of appreciation was given to the 313 volunteer group for their continuous support in emergencies by providing donors.
This year’s theme, “20 Years of Giving Thank You Donors,” marks the 20th anniversary of World Blood Donor Day. The occasion highlighted the contributions of brave volunteer donors, the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Chadoora, the Lab Supervisor, and all the technicians who played a crucial role in making the camp successful.
The Block Medical Officer of Chadoora emphasized that the 20th anniversary is a significant opportunity to thank blood donors worldwide for their life-saving donations and to honour their profound impact.
World Blood Donor Day is celebrated every year on June 14 to thank the selflessness of voluntary blood donors and celebrate life and humanity.
