Green campus prog workshop held at GHSS Anantnag

ANANTNAG: A one-day workshop on the green campus programme was successfully conducted on Thursday at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Ranibagh in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The event was organized by The Climate Reality Project in collaboration with the School Education Department and was attended by Heads of Institutions (HOIs) and Eco Club Incharges from fifteen model schools across the district, Aadil Bhat Programme manager told Kashmir Reader.
The workshop aimed to enhance environmental awareness and sustainable practices within educational institutions. Participants engaged in a series of interactive sessions and discussions focused on integrating green initiatives into the school curriculum and daily operations.
Aadil Bhat, Programme Manager, The Climate Reality Project, provided valuable insights into various environmental challenges and practical solutions to foster a greener campus environment. The programme emphasized the importance of reducing carbon footprints, conserving energy, managing waste effectively, and promoting biodiversity within school premises.
On behalf of Chief Education Officer Anantnag, Sami Jan Kochak (Principal of the Host Institution), highlighted the significance of such initiatives in shaping the future generation’s mindset towards environmental stewardship. She expressed gratitude to the Climate Reality Project for their continued support and collaboration.
The workshop concluded with a commitment from all participating schools to implement the discussed green strategies and to work towards achieving the goals of the green campus programme.
This event marks a significant step towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly educational environment in Anantnag, setting an example for other districts to follow.
