Awantipora’s Tajamul  Naik wins bronze at 1st All India Sarit Sarak Championship

PAMPORE: Tajamul Ahmad Naik, a resident of Baighpora Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, has secured a bronze medal in the prestigious 1st All India Sarit Sarak Championship.

The event took place in New Delhi from May 17 to 19 and was organized by the Sarit Sarak Federation of India and hosted by the Delhi Sarit Sarak Federation.

Tajamul, son of Nisar Ahmad, currently a Nursing Tutor at the Arsh Institute of Health Sciences and Technology in Khunmoh, Srinagar, expressed his pride and excitement in an interview with Kashmir Reader. He highlighted his dual role as a tutor and a martial artist while celebrating his recent achievement.

He noted that 500 players from various states across the country participated in the championship.

This isn’t Tajamul’s first brush with success in martial arts. He has a notable record of accomplishments at both state and international levels. In 2021, he won a bronze medal in the Thang Ta martial art championship.

In 2023, he bagged a silver medal in the International Mixed Boxing Championship held at SKICC Srinagar. Earlier in 2024, he earned another bronze medal at the 1st All India Pencak Silat Championships held in Maharashtra.

Tajamul’s consistent performance and dedication to martial arts have not only brought him personal accolades but have also made his community proud. His achievements reflect his hard work and passion for martial arts, inspiring many young athletes in the region.
