National Health Mission Delegation Visits PHC Wuyan, Applauds Best Practices

Dignitaries from NHM & Ministry of Health assess healthcare services during regional workshop; commend quality standards, infrastructure

PAMPORE: A team from the National Health Mission visited the National Quality Assessment Standards (NQAS), Primary Health Centre (PHC) Wuyan area of Medical Block Pampore in view of the Regional Workshop for northern states.
The team included dignitaries from an ongoing meeting/conference on implementing innovation and best practices under the National Health Mission in Srinagar from May 16th to May 18th, comprised advisors to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Mission Directors from various northern states and Union Territories, public health consultants, health management personnel from various state and UT health missions/agencies, and representatives from the National Health Systems Resource Center (NHSRC) in New Delhi, health officials told Kashmir Reader.
During their visit, they inspected the hospital, shared ideas, provided suggestions, and commended the implementation of best practices at PHC Wuyan.
Prior to the inspection, the team was welcomed by Dr Tehmeena Jamil, the Chief Medical Officer Pulwama, and Dr Asima, the Block Medical Officer Pampore, along with their respective team.
During an inaugural session, the team shared their ideas and suggestions, and also praised the best practices being carried out at PHC Wuyan.
Senior Medical Officer at PHC Wuyan Dr Hakeem Yaseen, speaking with Kashmir Reader, said the delegation of national health dignitaries from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, including officials from national and state/UT levels, visited PHC Wuyan as part of the Regional Workshop for Northern States.
The team, led by Dr Motup Dorje (MD NHM Ladakh), Dr K. Madan Gopal (Advisor MOHFW), Dr A. Srivastava (Advisor MOHF), and consultants from various states, conducted a comprehensive assessment of the healthcare services at PHC Wuyan. They meticulously examined the healthcare processes and procedures to gain a thorough understanding of the delivery system.
The inspection team expressed gratitude to the entire staff for providing and maintaining quality healthcare services to the population.
BMO Pampore, Dr Asima Nazir, said, “Our health facility at PHC Wuyan recently qualified for National Quality Assessment Standards (NQAS). In this regard, today, there is an all-India level conference happening in the state, with dignitaries from nine states visited here. She said that their main objective is to observe the qualified PHC Wuyan here to assess its infrastructure, available facilities, and the overall work environment. This is aimed at facilitating mutual learning and gathering insights from this visit.”
CMO Pulwama said, “Today a central team has conducted an inspection visit to PHC Wuyan, and we are going to have a regional workshop for the northern states. In this regard, some delegates visited PHC Wuyan because our PHC Wuyan has recently qualified for the National Quality Assessment Standards (NQAS). They came to see this facility.”
“Delegates from NHM Ladakh and the advisor from the Ministry of Family and Welfare Centre visited our health centre. They observed our basic facilities and the services we provide to the patients or people who come to our PHC Wuyan free of cost. They took inputs regarding how the health sector is functioning in our UT,” the CMO added.
