Stray dog attacks, injures 6 in Pampore

Pampore: At least six people were injured in the last two days after being attacked by a stray dog at Saffron Town Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The injured were taken to Sub District Hospital Pampore for treatment.
One of the injured persons, Gulzar Ahmad, received 18 stitches in hand and arms, his family members told Kashmir Reader. They said Gulzar was attacked by a stray dog when he was coming home from a masjid.
Another 65-year-old woman received 8 stitches in her leg. She was attacked near her home, locals said.
The attack led to panic among residents in the area.
The health officials from Sub District Hospital Pampore told Kashmir Reader that they received at least six dog bite cases in the last two days. Those included three males, one female and two children.
An official identified the injured as Sara Begum (65), Gulzar Ahmad Dar, Muteeb Ayoub, Aamina Ajaz, Mohammad Ramzan and Farooza Manzoor, all residents of Drangbal and Namblabal Pampore.
After giving treatment to the patients along with anti-rabies injections, two injured persons were referred to a Srinagar hospital for further treatment, the official said.
