Police arrest two persons in B’la, banned forest herbs recovered

BARAMULLA: Police in Baramulla have arrested two persons and recovered illegally procured banned forest herbs (Sheetkhar) from their possession.
“A police party of PS Tangmarg at a checkpoint established at Drung Tangmarg, intercepted two persons who on noticing police party tried to flee but were apprehended tactfully. They have been identified as Zubair Ahmad Malik son of Ab Majeed Malik resident of Mashkhud & Adil Ahmad Khan son of Gh Mohd Khan resident of Ganiwani. During search, officers recovered 13 Kgs of Banned Forest Herbs (Sheetkhar) from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody,” police said.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tangmarg and investigations have been initiated. “We urge the common masses that if you witness any social crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law,” police said.
