Tral bags Ist postion, Pampore 2nd, Kakapora 3rd
Tral: The two-day district Pulwama Thang-Ta Championship 2023 concluded at Indoor Hall Bajwani Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The championship was organized by District Pulwama Thang-Ta Association and was sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
More than 370 players both boys and girls from district Pulwama participated in the championship which was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tral Sajad Haya Naqash who was the chief guest at the opening ceremony on Tuesday.
On the occasion, the ADC Tral congratulated players and organisers of the Thanga Association Pulwama for holding the event in the area. DySP Tral Mubashir Ahmad presided over the closing ceremony as the chief guest, while Maqsood Ahmad Khan Manager Bajwani Indoor Hall, Tral was the guest of honor at the concluding function. The members of the Thangta Association were also present on the occasion.
The chief guest and guest of honour distributed medals among the winners and congratulated all participating students and organisers. He congratulated the winners and urged the participants to work hard to make their mark in the sports events.
During the championship, Tral KIC bagged 1st position while Martial Art Council Pampore clinched 2nd position and Kakapora bagged 3rd position, coach Sajad Ahmad Bhat told Kashmir Reader.
One of the senior players from Saffron Town Pampore, Shah Younis, also won a gold medal in the championship and select for State Thanga championship.
Earlier, Younis had won 14 gold medals in mixed Martial Arts, Thangtha, Pencake Silat, Arnis, Mix, Kick and Thai boxing. He has also two bronze medals in his name at the All India Inter University Penchak Silat championship.
The medalist played will take part in the coming Jamm and Kashmir UT Thang-Ta championship 2023 scheduled to be held at Srinagar in the month of October 2023._______
