PULWAMA: The Forest department officials seized two horses with illicit timber in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Officials informed Kashmir Reader that Sangerwani Forest Block of Forest Range Romshi seized two horses laden with illicit timber on late Sunday night.
They said that during the intervening night of June 11 and 12, Block Forest Officer Sangerwani Ilyas Ul Rasool Lone along with his Subordinates laid a naka at a particular place after receiving information from reliable sources about the movement of forest smugglers.
After waiting for two odd hours, the party succeeded in the seizure of two horses laden with illicit timber measuring to the tune of 18 Cfts and simultaneously the seized horses along with illicit timber were transported to BO’s Hut Sangerwani for safer custody, an official said.
He said a case has been registered in this regard at Police Station Rajpora under FIR number 53/2023 under relevant sections of IPC /IFA and further investigation is going on.
