SRINAGAR: On the occasion of World Environment Day, the officers and jawans present of CRPF 79 Battalion Headquarters took the oath received from the higher office for the protection of the environment.
The oath was administered by the head of the office on the Battalion Quarter Guard to other officers, subordinate officers and jawans to protect the environment in every situation.
Throwing light on the measures for its conservation, Kishore Kumar, Commandant 79 Battalion administered the environment oath under the objective of environmental protection and maintaining and promoting greenery in its work area. He highlighted the importance of trees in the protection of the environment, greenery in human life and the benefits derived from it.
Highlighting the importance of clean air, timber, firewood, etc, the tree plantation program was started in which Vishwa Deep Singh, Second-in-Command, Avigyan Kumar, Deputy Commandant, Tribhuvan Pratap Singh, Deputy Commandant along with other officers and jawans were present.
A total of 675 saplings were planted by all the companies of the battalion in their work area, battalion headquarters, Amar Singh Club and areas situated on the banks of river Jhelum. The program was highly appreciated by the people of the concerned area and it was expected to keep the planted saplings alive and run other such programs in the future, the CRPF said.
