REASI: A farmers’ awareness programme was today conducted in the conference hall of Dak bungalow Mahore to educate and motivate the participants about the Prime Minister Formulation of Micro Enterprises and One District One Product. As many as 50 farmers including unemployed youth participated in the event inaugurated by Chief Agriculture Officer and DNO PMFME, Harbans Singh in presence of District Agriculture Officer Extension Rajesh Verma, Agriculture Extension officers Naresh Gupta, Dara Singh, concerned AEAs and other officials of allied Departments.
Sarpanch Mohammad Akram, Mohammad Aslam, Zakir Hussain, Mohammad Aslam Mir and Sarpanch Sarh B Irshad Begum participated in the camp.
President FPO Bansi Lal and CEO Kranti Devi also attended the camp. The District nodal officer gave a detailed presentation on the scheme and enjoined upon the youth to set up micro food processing units of Mustard Chutney, Chillies powder packing & marketing, spices grinding, garlic paste etc.
The District Agriculture Officer Extension Rajesh Verma and Agriculture Extension officer Naresh Gupta elaborated the eligibility and terms of subsidy, interest and other related details of the scheme.
The Bank Manager JK Bank Mahore also addressed the farmers and elaborated the role of the Bank in implementation of the scheme by encouraging the youth of this inaccessible and far flung area of the District. Sarpanches of the Mahore block lauded the efforts of the agriculture department in mitigating the problems of the farming community in remote and hilly areas. The vote of thanks was presented by Naresh Gupta AEO Dharmari.
