PAMPORE: Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a free medical camp at Pampore village area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
A free medical camp was organised under civic action programme by 185 Battalion CRPF under the guidance of M.S.Bhatia, IPS IGP KOS at Govt Upper Primary School Lalpora Chatlam village of Pampore.
People gathered in large numbers to get their health issues addressed organised by CRPF.
During the camp free medical checkup of 400 people was done by a team of doctors and large quantity of free medicines were distributed among the gathering, besides free chocolates, toffees and biscuits to the Children of nearby areas who witnessed the programme.
The camp was inaugurated jointly by local residents and Commandant of 185 Bn CRPF Arun Kumar Bharti in presence of Vinod Kumar Tandon, Second-in-Command, Rajender Harijan, A/C and other officers of 185 BN CRPF along with many local prominent, Principal and other staff members of the school, CRPF officials told Kashmir Reader.
Talking to Kashmir Reader Commandant Arun Kumar Bharti said that under the ‘Civic Action Programme’, these types of camps have been regularly organised since its deployment in the region 185 Battalion CRPF is continuously helping poor and needy people by organising various types of Civic Action Programmes.
The main objective of CRPF is to provide assistance in those far flung, remote areas where locals cannot avail the facilities of local Administration.
Today 185 Battalion CRPF organised a medical camp at UPS Pampore and local people were treated for various kinds of diseases.
He said that they arranged the medical camp because there are not many medical facilities here. We have arranged the facilities free of cost and are providing free medicines to the patients. We will try to arrange more of such camps in the future, she said.
185 Battalion assured local people that they can also take medicine from 185 Bn Camp for minor illness and for major illness they can approach CRPF Madagar by which all kinds of medicines/medical treatment will be provided to them, Commandant Arun Kumar Bharati told Kashmir Reader.
During the medical camp, the team CRPF doctors include Dr. Vineet Tejyan, Dr. Ashif Rashid, M.O. 185 BN conducted health checkups and provided free medicines to the 40 needy people including womens, childrens and elders of the village.
