PAMPORE: Tehsil Administration Awantipora on Wednesday launched a anti- encroachment drive on the Srinagar-Jammu national in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. During the demolition drive several illegal structures were demolished by the Administration.
Tehsildar Awantipora Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din headed a day-long demolition drive along the Srinagar-Jammu national highway at Awantipora to remove encroachments over right of way (ROW) at several places, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Six structures were demolished with assistance of machinery provided by RAMKY.
“The people were already compensated but the structures were not evicted, they were given notices but still the encroachments were not removed,” the official said
