IIT Jammu scholarships for UG, PG students

JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) offers scholarships to deserving students, including fee concessions and direct benefit transfers. Scholarships such as merit-cum-means (MCM), free messing and freeship (remission of fee) are provided to support students from different categories based on merit and financial need.
List of scholarships and eligibility
1. Merit-cum-Means (MCM): The number of MCM scholarships for each year and in each branch will be limited to a maximum of 25 per cent of the specific category students’ strength in that particular branch in that year. (General, EWS & OBC students admitted from respective categories), wherein the tuition fee paid by these students shall be waived off and additionally scholarships of Rs 1,000 for each month (only those months will be counted in which classes are being conducted) is also released upfront for each Semester. The other eligibility conditions shall be:
(a) The MCM scholarships shall be available to General, OBC-NCL, and EWS Category students only.
(b) For the new admissions in every year (Autumn Semester), the JEE Advance Rank of the student shall be considered for determining the merit and award of scholarship.
(c) For the existing students (Spring Semester & Autumn Semester – except new admission), the Cumulative Performance Index, CPI (SGPA & CGPA each &gt;=6.0 and with total backlog courses <=2) shall be considered as eligibility criteria to apply for award of scholarship. Every Semester the merit list will be prepared as per CGPA and eligibility criteria.
(d) The Gross Annual Income of parents/family for the completed financial year should not be more than Rs 4,50,000.
(e) The student who avails this scholarship shall not be eligible for accepting or applying for any other scholarship from Govt., Semi-Govt., Institutional, Private, or any other sources.
(f) The student who had availed institute scholarship for a semester cannot opt for withdrawal/drop for the same Semester. If s/he does so, then s/he has to refund the availed scholarship for that Semester.
Note: However, for any exceptional conditions when a student wants to avail scholarship from this Institute and private source, then the student should take approval for availing any assistance or scholarship from any other private organization. If competent authority approves his request, he can avail scholarship from another source
2. Free Messing: All the SC and ST students are exempted from payment of tuition fees during each Semester. The facility of free messing (only basic menu) and a pocket allowance of Rs 250 for each month (only those months will be counted in which classes are being conducted) is also released upfront for each Semester. The other eligibility conditions shall be:
(a) The Free Messing scholarship shall be available to SC and ST Category students only.
(b) The Gross Annual Income of parents/family for the completed financial year should not be more than Rs 4,50,000.
(c) For Renewal the minimum SGPA & CGPA each >= 6.0 and the backlog of courses is <=2.
(d) The student who avails this scholarship shall not be eligible for accepting or applying for any other scholarship from Govt., Semi-Govt., Institutional, Private, or any other sources.
(e) There shall not be any upper cap on the number of scholarships provided under Free Messing (i.e. all eligible students will be assisted).
3. Freeship (Remission of Fee): The economically weaker students (who are not covered under any of the above or other scholarship schemes) shall be eligible for remission of tuition fees (as provided below). The quantum of remission & eligibility conditions shall be:
(a) The Remission of Fee scholarship shall be available to General, OBC-NCL, and EWS Category students only. It will be awarded to a maximum of 10 per cent of remaining General, OBC, and EWS students in each branch for a particular year in each semester.
(b) Those students whose Gross Annual Income of parents/family for the previous financial year is between Rs 1,00,000 to Rs 4,50,000 shall be eligible for remission of tuition fee.
(c) For the new admissions in every year (Autumn Semester), the JEE Advanced rank of the student shall be considered for determining the merit and award of scholarship.
(d) For the existing students (Spring Semester & Autumn Semester – except new admission), the Cumulative Performance Index, CPI (SGPA & CGPA each >=6.0 and with total backlog courses <=2) shall be considered as the eligibility criteria to apply for award of scholarship.
