Shopkeers fined during market checks at Pampore, Tral Awanitipora, Khrew

PAMPORE: Authorities carried out market checking of various areas in Pampore and penalised erring traders for violating the norms.
A joint team of market checking squad led by Naib Tehsildar Pampore and Khrew conducted a rigorous market checking at main market Saffron town and realized a fine of Rs 5,400 from two dozen erring shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act.

“Keeping in view the Eid festival, we have on Wednesday launched a massive market drive against erring traders. If anywhere the protocol and roaster is found violated we ensure to the General public that we will act against the violators” he said, adding that during the inspection polythene, rotten vegetables, and contaminated spices were destroyed on the spot by the joint team.
He further told Kashmir Reader that the market checking squads would remain vigilant and visit various areas in the tehsil.
Meanwhile a police statement said that the District Administration / Municipal Committee conducted market checking in Awantipora,Tral,Khrew .
Officers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Tral Khrew and Pampore along with Tehsildar concern / Municipal Committee officials held market checking and were fined during market checking, police said .
Accordingly, case FIR NO. 66 67,68 and 69/ 2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tral against four butchers.
Police have requested the traders and shopkeepers not to indulge in overpricing, black marketing, hoarding or any violation of essential commodities otherwise strict action under law will be taken against the violators.
