Police-public meetings held at Nigeen, Soura

SRINAGAR: Police-public meetings were held on Friday in the respective jurisdictional area of police station Nigeen and police station Soura.
At PS Nigeen, the meeting was held at Bus Stand Hazratbal in which transporters participated. The meeting was chaired by SHO PS Nigeen.
Another police public meeting was held at PS Soura in which community members of Anchar participated. The meeting was chaired by SHO Soura.
The main aim of these meetings was to interact with community members and seek their cooperation in maintaining peace and tranquillity so as to ensure smooth conduct of ongoing Amarnath yatra, a police spokesperson said in a statement.
He said during these meetings, various social issues including social crimes, drug menace and other grievances were raised.
The participants were assured that the issues pertaining to police will be solved in shortest possible time and the rest will be taken up with concerned authorities for their speedy redressal, he said.
Officers chairing meeting also requested community members for cooperation to eradicate the social crimes from the society. Civil society members hailed this gesture of police and assured support in maintaining harmony and eradicating other social evils as well.
