4 drug peddlers arrested in Budgam

SRINAGAR: Police on Friday arrested four drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered more than 30 kg poppy and 60 gram charas from their possession.
A police spokesperson in a statement said police party from police station Chadoora received information through reliable sources that poppy straw (fukki) was stored by two persons – Ghulam Mohidin Bhat resident of Muqam and Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Hanjura Chadoora – at their respective residences.
The police party raided the places and poppy straw weighing 20 kg and 10 kg respectively was recovered, he said, adding that a case FIR No 121 and 122 u/s 8/15 NDPS was registered.
Similarly, the spokesperson said, during naka checking at Kahipora, police personnel of Khansahab apprehended two notorious drug peddlers – Gh Nabi Sheikh son of Ab Gani Sheikh resident of Yarikah and Nissar Ahmad Bhat son of Mohd Yousuf resident of Lassipora Budgam.
“During the search, 60 grams of charas was recovered from their possession,” he said, adding that a case FIR No. 107 U/S – 8/20 NDPS has been registered and investigation taken up.
