Two Baramulla youth join militant ranks

Baramulla: Days after picture of a youth from Old Town, Baramulla holding an AK47 rifle appeared on social media, pictures of two more youth from the northern Kashmir district have surfaced on social media, announcing their plunge into militancy.
One of the youth, Uzair Amin Bhat is again a resident of Old Town, Baramulla while the other, Asif Maqbool Bhat is a resident of Athoora village of Kreeri area of the district.
In his picture, Uzair is seen holding an AK-47 rifle, while a pistol, some magazines and grenades are also visible in front.
According to text overlaid on the pictures, Uzair has joined Hizb-ul-Mujahideen on July 2 while Asif has joined Lashkar-e-Toiba on July 1.
Police is yet to confirm if the two have indeed joined militant ranks.
“We too saw the pictures of two youths holding arms and ammunition, but we can not say that both have joined militant rank. May be some one edited the pictures. We will contact with the families of both the youths, after that we can say anything, our teams are also investigating the pictures” a police official said.
