Safapora road in shambles

Ganderbal: Residents of Safapora and adjoining areas in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district are up in arms against authorities for failing to repair the Borusa- Safapora road.
Residents said that the dilapidated condition of the Borusa-Safapora road, that connects it to Srinagar-Leh Highway and the district headquarter, is in shambles with potholes causing inconvenience to commuters.
Large potholes have turned the road into an unfavourable stretch forcing the cab and bus operators to suspend services for days together, they said.
Hakeem Firdous, a resident of Safapora, said that it has been a long time since the road was repaired by the R&B department. He said many vehicles have met with accidents due to the condition of road.
In case of any emergency, he added, it takes them hours to reach the district hospital at Ganderbal. Tourists travelling to Manasbal resort have an equally harrowing time.
The residents want the Governor administration to help ameliorate their problem.
