10 drug peddlers arrested in Baramulla

SRINAGAR: Continuing with its drive against drugs and drug peddlers, police station Baramulla arrested six drug peddlers and recovered huge quantity of banned drugs and contraband substance from their possession.
A police spokesperson in a statement said, “On 02/07/2019 at about 1120 hrs, police party of police station Baramulla apprehended the known drug peddlers Mohammad Rafiq Sofi Son of Mohammad Subhan Sofi of Jalal Sahab Baramulla and Naveed Manzoor Najar @ Bob Nakvor son of Manzoor Ahmad Najar of Iqbal Colony Baramulla and have recovered huge quantity of brown sugar like substance from their possessions who were on way to sell it to the school children.”
In this regard, a case FIR number 113/2019 under section 8/21-29 NDPS act has been registered in police station Baramulla and investigation was taken up, he said.
Similarly, police party of police post Delina arrested four drug peddlers of the area – Mohsin Yousuf Mir @ Munna son of Mohammad Yousuf Mir of Delina, Danish Qazi son of Abdul Hamid Qazi of Boniyar present at Delina, Mohammad Abbas Mir @ Wasil son of Gulam Mohammad Mir of Delina and Sadam Hussain Khan son of Mohammad Hussain Khan of Kanispora – and have recovered huge quantity of brown sugar like substance which is about 209 grams and Spasmoproxyvon Plus Capsules 297 number from their possession.
In this regard, a case FIR number 114/2019 under section 8/21-29 NDPS act, 120-B RPC has been registered in police station Baramulla and investigation was taken up. More arrested are expected in coming days, the spokesperson said.
People of Old Town Baramulla and Delina have hailed the efforts of police and extended support in eradicating the drug menace from the society, police said.
