Locked washrooms at Shopain mini-secretariat annoy staff, visitors

SHOPIAN: Employees and visitors at the mini-secretariat- here at Arhama- are facing lot of inconveniences as the washrooms in the building have either been locked or are dysfunctional.
Many visitors rue that when the washrooms of the district top office are dysfunctional how would people expect to have their problems resolved.
Employees posted at the mini-secretariat said that both the staff and visitors were suffering because of dysfunctional washrooms in the buildings.
“At times we use a car to go to main town for using a washroom. We brought the issue to notice of concerned officials several times,” an employee, wishing not to be named, said.
Another employee said that visitors to the complex, especially women, also face problems because of locked washrooms.
“Recently a woman was wandering around offices looking for a washroom. It took me time to help her find one, inside a top office. And she had to wait outside office, at least for ten minutes, till I secured permission for her,” another employee said.
Employees said that earlier the washrooms lacked water supply but now they have been locked altogether.
“I think it’s good that they have locked the washrooms, as earlier there used to be lot of dirt and bad odour due to lack of water,” an employee of Revenue department said.
Employees demanded that all washrooms be made functional as soon as possible.
