Educate youth on dangers of sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy food habits: VP to doctors

SRINAGAR: The Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has called upon doctors to be pro-active in educating people particularly youth about dangers of sedentary lifestyles and unhealthy food habits in view of rise in non-communicable diseases.
According to a PIB statement issued here, the Vice President while interacting with a delegation of Delhi Medical Association on the occasion of Doctors Day on Monday reminded them of the reverent manner in which doctors are treated by people and urged the medical fraternity to serve people with empathy and compassion.
Asserting that it was important to reach out to downtrodden and marginalised sections of society with affordable healthcare, Naidu asked doctors to visit nearby educational institutions in their respective localities and create awareness about serious impact of a sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy diet on people’s health.
