‘Digital India’ anniversary observed at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: District Administration Ganderbal in collaboration with NIC District Centre Ganderbal organised a sensitisation-cum-awareness programme on Monday to celebrate the ‘Digital India’ anniversary.
Around 20 participants including district officers and various stakeholders were present. The programme was headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Showkat Ahmad Rather.
The theme of the subject was digital initiatives in the district and how we can adopt the ICT-led practices in our daily office routine and contribute towards achieving an efficient and accountable administration.
District Informatics Officer (DIO) Basharat Shafi gave introduction about the event and highlighted the role and responsibilities of various officers towards citizens with regard to their presence in service delivery and in achieving the goal of ‘Digital India’ programme.
“In today’s competitive world, all the stakeholders of the government must abreast themselves with the latest technological tools and innovations and remain steadfast towards bringing a change towards a digitally empowered knowledge economy,” the DIO said.
Digital Initiative (DI) is a mission under Digital India (DI) programme to modernise/transform and empower various sectors of the economy with ICT-led solutions It was highlighted that there are about 120- CSCs operating in the district that provide e-services to the whole society.
