DDC Bandipora stresses on early completion of languishing projects

BANDIPORA: District Development Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza on Monday chaired a meeting to review the progress of work on 74 languishing projects across the district.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tajamul, Executive Engineer PHE, R&B and other senior officers of the district. The meeting was informed that an amount of Rs 160.47 crore has been approved for work completion of 74 languishing projects in the district through the Jammu & Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (JKIDFC) Limited.

The languishing projects include those aimed at providing pure drinking water supply, infrastructure for healthcare besides several roads and bridges. 21 projects are being executed by R&B, 40 by PHE, while four projects are related to developing healthcare infrastructure. The DDC reviewed the progress on the projects and stressed on concerned to expedite work on all projects and ensure all the projects are completed within the set deadline.

The meeting discussed threadbare all the projects in detail and discussed about the solutions to remove the bottlenecks so that same can be completed at earliest. DDC asked the officers to remove all the bottlenecks that come in way of the early completion of projects and urged them to update the district administration regularly about the progress on the languishing projects.
