DC Baramulla urges youth to avail employment benefit schemes for sustainable livelihood

BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo Sunday urged the youth to avail employment benefit schemes for their sustainable livelihood.
Accoriding to the statement, he stated this while chairing the District Level Taskforce Committee (DLTFC) to discuss sanctioning of various financial assistance cases sponsored by KVIB,DIC, KVIC and other financial institutions.
On the occasion, a comprehensive discussion with regard to the eligibility for getting financial assistance through different departments was held wherein it was given out that KVIB under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEP), financial assistance is being provided for self employment programmes.
An interactive session with the applicants was held during which they shared their future endeavours with regard to their self-employment plans. It was decided that a committee shall be constituted who shall monitor and verify the proper usage of assistance amount sanctioned.
Itoo, who is also the Cchairman of the committee, called for a boost to the sector, saying that it will not only provide employment to the unemployed youth but also boost the economy through industrial growth.
He also emphasised the role of banks in facilitating financing to the interested entrepreneurs and directed the implementing agencies to pursue the cases with banking institutions so that prospective entrepreneurs can be facilitated. He further stressed for awareness dissemination about different schemes and programmes.
The meeting was attended by district officers of KVIB, DIC and KVIC, representatives of various banks and various aspiring entrepreneurs of the district.
