Baramulla youth missing since April joins militant ranks

Baramulla: A youth from Baramulla who has been missing from two months has apparently joined militant ranks, as a picture of him holding a gun surfaced on social media.
Adnan Ali, son of Ali Mohammad Channa, resident of Armpora Old Town, Baramulla, went missing from home on April 14, and his family had failed to trace his whereabouts since. They had also filed a missing report with the police.
On Tuesday, a picture of Adnan, in which he is wearing an army fatigue and holding an AK47 rifle, went viral on social media sites. The text description on the picture says Adnan Ali joined militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LET) on June 15.
Adnan is the first youth from Baramulla town to have joined militant ranks recently. Police had declared Baramulla as a militantcy-free district few months back.
Few days back, two youth – Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir from Gulgam Kupwara and Junaid Farooq Pandith from Hamray Pattan in Baramulla district- had similarly joined militant ranks.
