Baramulla traders annoyed, threaten strike over failed promises

Baramulla: The Traders Federation Baramulla is annoyed with the cold response of district administration to its demands of road macadamizing and car parking besides other facilities and have threatened to call a daylong strike after June 25.
General Secretary of the federation Tariq Ahmad Magloo Saturday said that a core group of traders met with district as well as divisional administration and both the administrations assured them that they will fulfil their demands as soon as possible, but months on, no initiatives have been taken.
He said that their demands were to provide a car parking, macadamize link roads of Baramulla town, develop the Kiryapa Park Baramulla for locals and visitors, beautification of both sides of highway, develop highway from Kanispora to Sheeri, construction of SRTC bridge quickly. However, he said, all the works are pending and officials are not talking any serious steps.
Tariq said that, the traders federation has decided to call one-day shutdown and protest call after 25 June against the administration if they fail to take any serious steps.
