Skeleton of Handwara man missing for two years found

Handwara: A human skeleton was found by local residents in Hangnikote village of Vilgam, Handwara in Kupwara district Tuesday.
The skeleton is believed to be of a man who had gone missing two years ago, as some clothes and an identity card was recovered along with the skeleton.
The identity card identified the deceased as Mohammad Akram Mir son of Abdul Aziz Mir of Sharkoot Vilgam, who was missing from July 22, 2017. Aziz was a retired employee of Sheep Husbandry department.
Police sources said that a missing report had been filed in Police Station Vilgam about the missing man in 2017. Some locals collecting wild vegetables found the skeleton on Tuesday and informed the police.
Local sources said police along with army and large number of people including family members of deceased rushed the spot to retrieve the body.
