AAC organises rally, Mirwaiz to lead Eidgah march today
SRINAGAR: A workers rally of Awami Action Committee (AAC) was held at its headquarters at Mirwaiz Manzil Rajouri Kadal in connection with the commemoration of martyrdom anniversary of its founder chairman ‘Shaheed-e-Millat’ Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq.
AAC patron Mirwaiz Umar Farooq led the rally in which hundreds of party workers and activists from valley participated, a statement issued here said.
Paying tributes to late Moulana Farooq, AAC workers reiterated the pledge that they will pursue the path shown by their “visionary” leader who throughout his life championed the cause of the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue and was a great advocate of Indo-Pakistan friendship.
“It was Shaheed-e-Millat who first proposed that dialogue among the stakeholders was an alternative and peaceful manner to end the conflict and usher peace and progress in the region for one and all,” the statement said.
AAC said it will continue to pursue the path of advocating peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue and an end to the conflict that has consumed lakhs of human lives on all sides.
During the rally, it was decided said that after Zuhr prayers at Jamia Masjid on Tuesday, a peaceful procession will be taken out from the grand mosque to Martyrs’ Graveyard in Eidgah Srinagar which would led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
The statement said that a complete shutdown will also be observed on Tuesday in memory of ‘Shaheed-e-Millat’, ‘Shaheed-e-Hurriyat’, Hawal martyrs and “all the tens of thousands of Kashmir’s martyrs since 1990”.
