DDC Anantnag holds public outreach programme at Dooru

Anantnag: District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir on Sunday held public outreach programme at Dooru sub division of the district to listen the grievances of the public.

The grievances pertaining to power, water, road connectivity, healthcare, education, revenue, social welfare, forest, agriculture, horticulture, rural development, flood control & irrigation, sanitation, essential commodities and other public grievances were discussed threadbare in the programme.

People from different walks of life participated in the programme and put their grievances and other public interest issues, in front of the DDC who assured quick redressal of all their genuine demands.

The DDC assured the public that all their genuine issues will be addressed and resolved at an earliest. He said that such programmes will be organised in future too to bridge the gap between the administration and public for better governance. He added that availability of the officers in the field would be ensured to access the problems of the public for their quick redressal. He assured the availability of services under Public Services Guarantee Act to the public at door steps and organising joint awareness camps by various government departments regarding various schemes and programmes of the government.

DDC reiterated that awareness among public regarding various government programmes is the most important tool to get the maximum benefit and services. He stressed upon all the concerned departments to display services being provided under Public Services Guarantee Act outside their offices so that people get awareness. He also stressed for avoiding use of polythene for saving the environment and having a pollution free atmosphere. He added that administration and public have to work in coordination for putting an end to the menace of Polythene, besides a mass awareness would be organised in this regard. He also said that anti encroachment drives will be intensified in near future in coordination with general public.

The DDC said that minimum power cuts will be ensured during Sehri and Iftar time, besides asked for judicious use of power by the public. He directed the SE PDD to charge public rationally as per the usage and refrain from arbitrarily charging. He also directed for preparation of DPR for construction of Power Grid at Qamar Verinag.

The DDC directed the CMO Anantnag to organise Village Health Nutrition Days on regular basis, assured availability of Gynaecologist and specialists. He asked the CEO Anantnag to provide the details of the vacancies in the school education department so that needful is done. He assured that construction of Mini Secretariat would be intensified, besides power connectivity will be improved.

In addition, the DDC suggested for organic forming and assured all help through concerned departments, directed SE PDD to complete all pending works in Bakarwal Check. The DDC also assured for connectivity of all the habitations at an earliest. He directed for completion of Larkipora Bridge at an earliest, besides patching and macadamisation of roads, assured functioning of street lights, development of play fields, besides all genuine raised issues to be solved on priority. He stressed upon the officers to work in close coordination and synergy so that most of the public grievances are addressed immediately.
