Meanwhile, in Pratap Park in the city centre, local youths including girls on Wednesday held a protest against the rape of the 3-year-old girl in Malikpora area of Sumbal in Bandipora district.
Scores of youths assembled at Pratap Park demanding capital punishment to the culprit. They held up placards and banners that said, “Girls are not toys”, “No Mercy to Rapists”, “Enough is Enough, Stop Rape”, and “We want Justice for the victim”.
Najlah Shah, one of the protesters who came from Zakura, said the culprit should be given due punishment as per the law.
“What has been happened with the victim is an inhumane act. The government should investigate the case on fast-track basis, so that justice could be delivered to the victim,” she said.
