Secy tourism emphasises time-bound eco-friendly infrastructure creation

Reviews status of PMDP projects, Capex Budget 2019-20

SRINAGAR: Commissioner Secretary Tourism, Rigzin Samphel on Tuesday emphasised on the creation of an eco-friendly infrastructure in a time-bound manner and directed the officers to initiate the tendering process of the approved projects or works proposed under Capex Budget 2019-20 forthwith, which should be completed by the end of this month.

Rigzin was speaking while reviewing the status of Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) projects and also capital expenditure (Capex) Budget 2019-20 in a meeting here at Conference Hall of Directorate of Tourism Department, an official handout read.

He stressed on development of wayside facilities enroute all tourist resorts for the comfortable and memorable journey of the travelers further directing the officers to identify 2 kanal of land near main roads for the installation of bio-toilets.

He also emphasised on outsourcing the assets soon after their completion, it read.

Sampheal sought the information on the physical and financial progress of the projects, asset-wise revenue generation during 2018-19, details of the projects outsourced, a timeline of the completion of the projects sanctioned under PMDP, it added.
