3,000 trucks with essential commodities to reach Valley by Saturday

Consumers to get 4,500 quintals of sugar soon: Div Com

SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan on Tuesday convened a meeting regarding the issues highlighted by the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industries (KCCI) here.

According to a release, members of KCCI lauded the efforts of the divisional commissioner to clear 3,000 trucks loaded with essential commodities on the national highway towards Valley on Saturday which will timely benefit the consumers.

The members highlighted various issues like hassle-free road connectivity to the Valley and to which the divisional commissioner assured that the national highway will be fully restored within a week and “traffic will ply from both ends on it besides roadside amenities will be developed on Mughal Road within 10 days”, the release read.

He also assured the members that government will distribute 4,500 quintals of sugar to the Valley consumers soon.

Div Com assured the delegation that their other concerns would be taken care of for the betterment of the economic sector in the Valley.

Khan said that he would hold weekly meetings with KCCI members on every Saturday to listen and redress issues, if any, faced by the business fraternity.

Directors of Industries & Commerce, Horticulture, Handicrafts & Airport Authority, VC SDA, Chief Engineer PDD, Joint Director Tourism, Additional Commissioner SMC, SP Traffic (Rural), Assistant Commissioner (Central), higher members of KCCI and other concerned officers were present in the meeting, the release added.
