Sopore shuts on second day after militant killing

Baramulla: The Sopore area of Baramulla district remained partially shut on Saturday against the killing of an ISJK militant.
Shops and businesses were shut while class work was suspended at most schools.
Locals said that thousands of people including women visited the home of slain militant Ishfaq Ahmad Sofi who was killed in an gunfight with government forces on Friday in Shopian district of south Kashmir.
Authorities had ordered closure of degree college Sopore, and higher secondary schools on Friday and Saturday to avoid any untoward incident.
Government forces were deployed by authorities across Sopore.
