Sehrai demands unconditional release of Kashmiri political prisoners

Srinagar: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai on Sunday demanded unconditional release of all political prisoners and youths lodged in various jails at the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement, Sehrai expressed concern over the plight of Kashmir political prisoners and demanded their immediate release.
“We again call on the authorities to release all political prisoners in wake of coming holy month of Ramadan and stop arbitrary detentions. Prolonging the detention of prisoners is nothing but a political vendetta to break their resolve. But time has proved that inmates have shown a tremendous courage and patience despite remaining in prisons and facing hardships over legitimate political belief,” he said.
