Srinagar: Train services remained suspended for the second consecutive day on Saturday on Srinagar-Banihal track due to security reasons, officials said.
However, they said that the train shall run normally on the Srinagar-Baramulla track.
Train services were suspended on the Srinagar-Banihal track on Friday following a gunfight in Shopian village in south Kashmir where three Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants, including a top commander, were killed in an encounter by government forces.
The official said that the train service was suspended on Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund and Banihal in Jammu region route on Friday from 1000 hrs following an advisory received from police. A fresh advisory was received last night not to resume the service on this route today also, he said.
