Iqbal’s verse written with blood at encounter site

SHOPIAN: A photograph went viral on social media on Friday showing an Urdu verse of Allama Iqbal, written purportedly by Lateef Tiger with his blood, on the wall of the house he was killed in today.
“Neither the booty of war, nor kingship, the only aim of the true believer is martyrdom”. This line is from Allama Iqbal’s poem Tariq ki dua, Undlus kay maidaan mein.
According to locals, Lateef Tiger wrote this line in Urdu before he was slain by government forces. Locals said that Tiger used his blood as ink to write on the wall. They said that he also wrote his name, ‘Tiger’, on another wall of the house.
Three militants were killed at Matibug village today, including top ranked militant Lateef Tiger. Locals said that two of them were killed outside the house but Tiger was trapped within and it was there that he wrote the verse on the wall.
