Shopian encounter: Train service suspended in Kashmir

Srinagar: The railway authorities on Friday suspended train services from Srinagar to Banihal and vice versa following apprehensions about the disturbances in “law and order” situation following a gunfight in Shopian district of south Kashmir, reports said.

Reports said that the railway authorities termed the suspension of train service as a precautionary step.

Source said that two local militants have been killed and an army man was injured in the ongoing encounter at Aarkhara Village of Shopian.

The authorities have also suspended the internet services in entire south Kashmir early morning.
