Nizamuddin Bhat urges hailstorm damage assessment in Bandipora

Bandipora: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Nizamuddin Bhat on Wednesday urged the government to assess damages caused by the hailstorm in north Kashmir’s Bandipora.
Expressing sympathies with farmers and orchardists, Bhat in a statement said that the damages are widespread in Sumlar, Shokhbaba, Chuntimulla, Arin and whole Khuihama belt of Bandipora.
He said that since farmers and other affected people have entire dependence on agriculture and horticulture sector, the need for early support is important for their survival.
“It is also important that affected are supported to sustain their activities for future,” he said.
Bhat hoped that the governor’s administration will take cognisance of this issue keeping in mind the pathetic condition and economic distress of the victims.
