Bar concerned over deteriorating health of jailed DeM leader Fahmeeda Sofi

Srinagar: J&K High Court Bar Association, Srinagar on Thursday expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health condition of jailed Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) leader Fahmeeda Sofi lodged at Tihar Jail in New Delhi.
In a statement, the Bar Association demanded that Fahmeeda Sofi be provided immediate medical treatment for her worsening joint problem, “which has also damaged her knees to such an extent that she is unable to stand and the providing of such medical treatment be also made possible to all other incarcerated Kashmiri leaders and activists, who are held in captivity at Central Jail Tihar, New Delhi and other jails and detention centres of the State”.
“In an Executive Committee meeting held here on Thursday, the members also denounced the summoning of Anees-ul-Islam – the grandson of Syed Ali Shah Geelani and son of Mohammad Altaf Shah, who is languishing in Tihar Jail New Delhi and termed it as illegal, unjustified and unwarranted,” the statement sai.
The members also ridiculed the summoning of Sama Shabir, the daughter of pro-freedom leader Shabir Ahmad Shah.
The members also paid tributes to the poet-philosopher Allama Mohammad Iqbal (RA), on his 80th death anniversary.
