SRINAGAR: The candidates who have qualified the examination for the post of Jammu and Kashmir Sub-Inspectors (JKSI) on Wednesday held a protest demonstration here demanding issuing of formal appointment order for selected candidates.
Scores of the candidates assembled in press enclave chanting slogans in favour of their demands.
Riyaz Ahmad Khan, one of the selected candidates from Kupwara said in the year 2016 the government issued a notification for sub-inspector posts in police department.
“In December 2018, the final selection list was declared and some of the candidates have filled a petition in High Court in which high court has given stay order for the appointment process,” he said.
“We have already qualified all the formalities including physical test, written exams and interview and were selected for the posts,” Khan said.
He also said “High Court has directed the department to go ahead with the appointment process without any delay”.
The selected candidates have requested the Governor Satya Paul Malik and Director General of police Dilbagh Singh to look into the matter and issue the formal appointment orders in favour of the selected candidates.
